Tania Gower-Bullick BTchg, MCouns (Hons) First Class (Waikato)

With a Master of Counselling degree from The University of Waikato, Tania specialises in narrative therapy, creating a safe and supportive space for people to explore troubling problems that disrupt their peace and happiness and working toward a preferred future.

As a provisional member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), Tania works ethically and compassionately with individuals and couples facing difficult life transitions, emotional challenges, and relationship issues.

Professional Development

 

As a provisional member of NZAC, Tania is committed to ongoing professional development and supervision to ensure the integration of current research and best practices for the provision of high quality support. Tania's practice is informed by regular participation in counselling workshops, cultural safety and competency training, and professional supervision. 

Fees and Ethical Considerations

Fees

 

After an email request for counselling has been received, a 15 minute free phone conversation will be arranged to discuss counselling, answer any questions and arrange appointments. Further counselling sessions with be invoiced at:

​

  • Individual Sessions - 60 minutes: $125 per session

  • Couple Sessions - 70 minutes: $145 per session

 

In line with ethical guidelines and commitment to social equity, a limited number of sliding scale sessions are reserved. If standard fees are challenging, a conversation about flexible payment options that make counselling more accessible is welcome.

Cancellations

Please provide early notification if the need to cancel a session arises. The option of changing from in person to online counselling is available. A $40 fee will apply for cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice to cover the reserved time. Your understanding is appreciated.

 

Ethical Considerations

 

Professional Supervision and Ethics

Tania accesses regular professional supervision ensuring quality, ethical, and reflective counselling practice. Both she and her supervisors adhere to the NZAC Code of Ethics. 

 

Confidentiality Agreement

Confidentiality will be discussed at the initial meeting with a written confidentiality agreement signed. Exceptions to confidentiality include:

  • Immediate or foreseeable serious danger to client or others

  • Legal requirements for disclosure

 

Record Keeping

In consultation with the people she is working with, Tania may take notes during sessions. Notes and any other records will be securely stored and kept for 10 years in compliance with health regulations.

 

Complaints

Tania hopes to establish counselling relationships with people she works with that would allow for open and direct discussions about any concerns.  If that is not possible there are alternative formal complaint channels available through NZAC.
